Secret Life of the American Teenager

When it first aired I too was sold on the great Molly Ringwald’s return. If seen Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. Secret Life was one of those shows that I caught just before college.

Basic premise is Amy is a high school freshman who finds out the hot bad boy she banged in band camp got het pregnant.  Along with normal social issues, Secret Life explores Amy’s life as eldest daughter, expectant mother all while dealing with the struggles of maneuvering high school.

I gotta be honest here, I don’t know who’s secret life this is but I feel terribly sorry for them and the townies that surround them.

After a series of partner swaps and questionable plot twists my senior year Netflix binge fizzled during the 4th season premiere. What was once ABC family offered both and entertaining yet loosely family focused program that sometimes teetered on x-rated.

These kids got more tail than I did during my senior year of college. Any who I found myself having mushy drama overload and quit watching before the series finale.

I recently rediscovered Secret Life and jumped right back in where I left off. Turns out Ben, spiraled after Amy and Ricky got back together and unfortunately as of Season 5 episode 10 he was still waiting for Amy and Ricky to split up even if he had to wait until they were geriatric.

There’s a new girl in school who gets to be pregnant and we get to see history repeat itself while a new young guy tries to save the young mother.

Where am I now?

Molly Ringwald, “Amy’s Mom” is a lesbian, Amy and Ricky are pretending to have eloped while their families plan a large wedding. Ben is semi stalking her whilst having also ran through the graduating class. Ricky, Jack and Adrian are all attending the same college.

For some reason there was a pimp roaming campus who beat up Jack. We’ll see how this works.
