I am fangirling so hard over the new Spiral trailer. I’m sure there is someone who enjoys horror/suspense more than me, but I don’t know them. The trailer itself which doesn’t photogrid_15815226513712382943988515069987.jpgreadily give itself away as a SAW movie shows a very serious looking Chris Rock and a slightly crazier Samuel L. Jackson hunting down a serial killer targeting cops.

Spiral will serve as the ninth installment in the Saw spiral9033353652739804275.jpgfranchise and was actually written by Chris Rock after a chance encounter with the head of Lionsgate at a friend’s wedding.

It was later adapted by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. Spiral: From the Book of Saw will exist in the same canon as the previous eight films, and will not be a reboot, nor will it be a direct sequel to Jigsaw. Spiral is scheduled to be released on May 15, 2020 in the United States by Lionsgate.

Check out the trailer for the new movie Spiral Below!

What are you currently reading?

How to write sf and fanatsyI  am trying my hand at multi-reading. I’m preparing for grad school so I’m reading through Orson Scott Card’s How to Write: Science Fiction & Fantasy a light read with lots of information for aspiring writers. This book is only one in a series of genre reference books published by Writers Digest.  Card is the author of Ender’s Game a book I haven’t read but seen in movie form. The four book series with mini A Madness So Discreet– novella attachments are enough to add at least eleven novels and ten short stories to my TBR list.

I’m also trying to make it through A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis.  I’ve tried reading this book a few times, each time abandoning it for something more my cup of tea.  However, I’m noticing that this book has been making ti’s rounds aroung the blogosphere and it was featured in a post I was reading a few days ago. I insist on completing this book and returning it to it’s rightful owner…. Yup it’s borrowed.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished reading Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin ColferI feel a great sense of accomplishment both finishing the full series as well as having documented the reading and reviews as described in my 2017 reading challenge. Yay me! Also that puts me only nine books away from completing my 2017 reading challenge and it’s still NOV.

The Artemis Fowl series was a great read. The characters lived and grew with each new book and the final battle really put the icing on this series for me. There’s a full review of the book here, if you haven’t  read that yet.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Once I finish reading Madness and the Reference book I fully plan to return my attention to reading The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.  It made it my Nov TBR list but I have yet to open a single book from the series. It hasn’t been forgotten, I just may need ro finish out the series in December which is perfect as the Buddy read with Do You Even Geek  will probably be 2018’s project anyway.

I literally found out about this last week. What a great way to get some recurring content and it’s really easy because there are only THREE questions! WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words!  Be sure to post your answers in the comments below and head over to Sam’s when you’re done!

What are you currently reading?

I  am currently reading Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer. It’s the final book of the Artemis Fowl series and I’m a little past the halfway mark in the story. I usually feel a little bit of melancholy when i’m nearing the end of the series, and don’t get me wrong it’s one of my favorites. But…I’m eager to complete and catch up to my book goal for 2017 before December is over.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished reading Artemis Fowl: The Atlantis Complex  also by Eoin Colfer. I know there’s not a lot of variation and I’m not triple booking it, but I do enjoy keeping with a series and this one had eight books in it. This book is one of my favorites in the series followed closely by book #5: The Lost Colony. You can check out the review for that here.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Had you asked me a few days ago I would’ve said without a doubt I’d be starting The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. That may not be the case anymore, I recently got quite a few books for my birthday and the November book Haul came a bit early so I’m slightly distracted by pending reads. I also have a book from my friend Breanna that I borrowed intending to read and then never got around to. So given my current options I’ll be stopping to read the stand – a – lone. A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinniss my borrowed book from Do You Even Geek.

Shemar Moore Leaves Criminal Minds

Shemar-Moore1

I watched in awe, partially on the verge of tears as we all said farewell to Agent Derek Morgan of the BAU. He isn’t dead Shemar Moore just left the show.

After 11 seasons of playing the BAU’s hunky chocolate hitter, Shemar Moore bid farewell in the final episode “A Beautiful Disaster”.  The final episode features Derek hunting down the man responsible for shooting his pregnant wife Savannah (special guest star Rochelle Aytes plays Mrs. Morgan).

derek and savannahWeek after week we were prepped for Morgan’s departure, after he was kidnapped and tortured in “Derek” I was just happy he wasn’t killed off. Moore’s final episode aired March 23, 2016, though Morgan is leaving to spend more time with his wife and new son. Moore is leaving the show to puruse new oppurtunities.

The most heartbreaking goodbye, was between him and character Penelope Garcia, who’s friendship has kept us all enamored with the show since it started in 2005. Moore stated in an interview with TV Guide that he’d happily return in some capacity later down the line. Noting his occasional appearances after leaving the soap Young and the Restless.

Did you forget he was on that?

Criminal Minds still comes on CBS Wednesdays @ 9pm. Be sure to also catch the new spin-off Criminal Minds:Beyond Borders which airs just after @ 10pm.
